i was wondering, is there a difference? I have never used a toy so i have no idea but i have been told that silicone is better. And there are some toys i want that are only sold as gel's. such as the kangaroo, the tiger, and the dragon. But I'm concerned that gel is lesser in quality?

Gel being lesser quality is correct.
    Gels:
    -Smell
    -Sweats plasticizer
-Requires baby powdering and being sealed in a baggy when not in use
    +cost
    +selection of gels

    Silicone:
    -Cost
    -Selection
    +No smell
    +No leaking
    +Can be dishwashed/boiled to clean
+No need for powder or plastic baggies

We're going to eventually switch the gels to silicone, but the ETA on that is unknown due to the cost.

What makes the main difference for me is how long it will last and how much maintainance it needs too last as long as possible.
I prefer toys I dont have to care for too much so it becomes work using them xD and I want em to last as long as possible as they cost quite abit.

So yeah the silicone as far as I know take an awfull long time to degrade on it's own and will last ya longer with less need for care and maintanance.
So yeah I would add: Toy lifespan as a +/- on that list ^^
