You as a fur (or not) have wished you could just get away from technology for a few days? Go have fun around others, work on art projects, lay around in the sun, and enjoy a cool night under the stars? Well CampFire Tails is where you need to be!

CampFire Tails is a camp out con and is the only conference in Oregon's "God's Country"! Communal sleeping tents (private if you pack one in), prepared meals, and lots of fun under the Oregon High Desert sky all provided with the small registration fee.

Did i mention food? yes, i did; but did i mention that I am the cook? At most cons you are left to fend for yourself, but at CampFire Tails you are supplied a picnic style breakfast and lunch and full hot dinner with your registration fee (become a patron and you get hot breakfast, a sponsor and you get three hot meals!). Trust me, you'll love my menu.

CampFire Tails will be 5-9 August 2010 at the Ogden Group Campground apx 9mi northeast of LaPine, Oregon.

if you have any interest in attending, please go here www.campfiretails.org

Here's to seein' ya at the camp!

NOTE: there is NO 'at con' registration. if you want to go you MUST pre-register. :3

I just checked out the website and it sounds great! It's very interesting how there will be a convention in the great outdoors. I just wish that i could attend if I wasn't living on the other side of the country! Tongue

WOW!  From location, to code of conduct, to security, to the T-shirt, you folks have organized an outstanding event in a glorious area.  You've provided something for everyone to enjoy during their time there, and the menu sounds fabulous!  It's even close to my neck of the woods, but our family reunion is that weekend this year.  Sad

This is just a suggestion, but it's something you might want to consider for next time - the concept of "Supporting Memberships".  These are for people who live too far away to attend, but would like to support the event and get whatever memento you're doing that year (t-shirt, coffee cup, photo CD, etc.)  Supporting memberships usually cost half or two-thirds of a basic attending membership.  They provide the organization with seed money early on, or catch up money for unexpected expenses during the event.  And they're a great way for those who can't be there to feel a part of the event.  I'm familiar with this concept, because they've been a common option at Sci-Fi Cons for many years.
