BB I know you work really hard at these, but how bout you hire a few people that live near you to help? It could make the process faster and more toys could get done. that way you dont have yo sweat bullets and have less people writing bout how much they are waiting for toys .

Several have volunteered, but the problem is there arent enough people close by to do it, plus there is the whole method of paying them, if he were to do that the cost of the toys would go up, and people would complain about that. The product is what keeps things goings, and if you start to mass produce you get more errors in the toys and then more complaints about that. He's been doing it like this for many many yrs. It works for him, and you know the saying if it aint broke dont fix it.

Agreed, Knotme. Bear does need help but with this economy as it is and all, it's just so expensive to have to pay for hired help. Shame those of us willing to volunteer are so far away!

Don't volunteers do things for free?
When I'm not in my bear cave I volunteer in a charity shop. I do it for nothing. It's such a good cause, I don't mind.

A little help would be nice, but the economy isn't the only thing Bear has to worry about, when you hire someone else in this kind of business you have to have them under a binding legal contract, as there are other compinies out there looking for different methods and ways to make newer or better toys. The last thing we want is some one "volunteering" and running of to another company with Bear's methods. He's real secretive about his processes and I think we should keep it that way, plus I'm just about sure he's going as fast as he can anyway with the number of molds he's got.
I think we all just need to be a litle patient and respect his hard work. It seems a little selfish that we all want his amazing work, but we don't want to wait for it...

Whoa, whoa, whoa....some of us around here are very patient people. I got no problem with the wait, then again I do have like 16 toys to play with in the mean time.....lol, but there are some of us and bear knows who we are that have volunteered to help out if we could. Now if there was a way to stream line the process so that once he went to bed there would be a whole batch ready to go in the morning, then while hes mailing those more could be worked on, and possibly get two or even 3 shippments a day. Like you said he keeps the process to himself for that reason of other companies trying to copy and mass produce his very special creations.

Trust me, there are PLENTY of us out here in the community that would GLADLY help BB in anyway, shape or form that he asked us to help. I have seen how the major studios have made their dildoes and it is quite a feat of technology. Being a volunteer is especially useful for some people who may find their calling in doing certain types of volunteer work for some people.

In reality, BB doesn't need help making toys. Thats his thing, let the man work his magic. The help needed is with paperwork, orders, customer service, and handling all the pure data end of what he does. Which, if someone wanted to take on that position, could be done in 30 minutes a day, from anywhere on the planet. All they would need is a cell phone, internet, and an ability to overlook or not care what the product is that they are handling orders for. Anyone could do that, within or without the community. Get it set up so all BB has to mess with on his end is a neat list of what hes making and the address its going to, and a steady inflow to his bank account.

And for that he has me. I am currently working on a new site for zeta which will have a better base to start off on customizing to integrate everything on a basic level so that way BB doesn't have to do much of anything. Eventually I may just end up streaming everything to an entirely custom coded application that has tickets, forum posts in support and orders all in one along with some other nifty features he could use. All in all, BB will still be handling customer service because most of it is people wanting an update on their order. Just, in the future, most of the heavy lifting and time consuming clicking will handled automatically.

What is the ETA for the new site design that will handle all the orders and such Tal?
Right now I just have a few things left to do on the ticket part, then I think it would be fairly safe to put it live. I do want to do bug checking though, so I'd say a week to be safe It's got the bare minimum for feature enhancements though, so it'll be worked on over time for decreasing bears time on site.
