Deal With It

  • Choose the soft option for any toy. Purchase a toy you aren't quite ready to use yet.

    NO!

    DON'T!

I'm serious. Using vaseline as a lube overall is a BAD idea. It can coat your insides and because it's hard to extract can trap bacteria and other nasties inside of you and make you sick. Plus it can coat toys and be a pain to remove, or keep bacteria on them as well. Also, do not use with condoms, vaseline weakens them and can cause them to become porous and break, making them ineffective as a barrier.

    Seriously, stick with real lube.

As far as effects specifically on silicone, I've yet to come across any. However, Quail makes some good points, it weakens latex and it's a bitch to clean.
Over all I wouldn't suggest it in large quantities or in great frequency, I've used it before (on plastic toys) and was just fine Smiley

you really dont wanna use any lubricant besides water based with silicone toys because of interactions between other compounds and the silicone itself can destroy the toy. silicone and petroleum (oil) lubes will damage your toys over time. its best just to stick with water based <3

To my knowledgr petreloeum based products are typically used to break down plastics and rubbers. I wouldn't trust petroleum jelly (Vaseline brand) to not damage a silicone toy.

It's not water soluble so cleaning it will be difficult in general....

Also. It isn't water soluble! I agree with others it will trap bacteria. Additionally your natural fluids or mucus won't clear it from your body very well. If you use too much you will create a barrier between that tissue which can interefere with moisture/nutrient absorbtion. Dehydration, infections....

All in all I don't think it is healthy to put in your body... toys aside.

I wouldn't think so.  They just don't want us advertising other animal-dildo companies.  Bear needs us to bring people here, not send them off to other sites with similar products.  I would think mentioning lube isn't a big deal, though.  If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me, however.

Recommending lubes is fine, they're not toys, just help with the toying. Advertising other sites with the same niches is not allowed, though.

Problem with that stuff is that you have to mix it.  Had a friend try that out and got the ratio wrong.  XD

theres a ratio?  Shocked  i've been using it for about a month and i just add any amount of water to it and it works, its a lot of fun to play with (in a clean way) too, its like goo ^.^  well i only mix very small amounts at a time though, only enough for a week max.  it doesn't have any preservatives in it so once its liquid it won't stay germ free forever, probably 2 weeks or so, so i don't mix it all at once.......though i do want to fill a tub with it Grin Tongue

Id pretty much just stick with waterbased lubes for silicone toys.
