I got my gel toy in the mail today, vibrating Roy's Toy and I am so thrilled to have it!

Haven't gotten a chance to use it yet because I need to go out and buy a box of condoms (don't want to use gel without plenty onhand). And I really just love this toy so much, I want it to last a very, very long time. I'm wondering about the proper way/amount to baby powder a gel toy? When I got it there was tons and tons of powder on it but it looked like it could;ve been as much as in the sample bottle and I havent bought more yet and I gently put some all over it and rubbed it on to cover all areas.

I was wondering if anyone has a photo of their toy properly powdered so I can see how I should do it without being skimpy and having my toy harden or going crazy with the powder and making a huge mess/wasting it.

If you're going to store it for a long time, make sure to powder it heavily. If you're only going to store it for a few days or so, a light powdering should do just fine. Enjoy your toy!! Wink

I've always just made sure to put a light coating of powder all over the toys when I store them.  Put some powder in your hand and then rub the toy some, then put more powder in your hand and rub some more until the whole thing is coated.  If you want a bit more you can put powder directly on the toy and then rub it around a little.

The old gel toys, unlike the new Silicone ones, are prone to leaching out the chemicals that they are made from. If you don't powder them, they become brittle, hard, coarse and unusable to you. That is one of the main reason why BB switched over to Silicone. Silicone doesn't suffer from those bad things, can be washed in the dishwasher TOP RACK only and only a light coat of powder is required to prevent it from sticking to the bag.

With the toys I've bought in the past...especially the fleshy type, they come with a special powder of thier own. And, for only $8 you can order another tiny bottle. Funny thing is, they're required to list the ingredients. There is only one....corn starch. A 12 oz box of corn starch costs just a buck or 2 at the grocery store. Smiley
