"Surprise me" color option and color sales

Some people just don't care what color their toy is. After all, if the firmness is the same and the shape is the same, all colors are going to feel the same! Adding a "surprise me" color option would be great as it would allow Bear to use up unusual colors like yellow and purple while making manufacturing a little faster as Bear won't need to worry about matching toy colors to orders. If you have a major aversion to any color, it can be mentioned in the order notes (ex: "anything but red, please!") but I doubt that many people using the "surprise me" color option will add notes like that.

Along the same lines as the "surprise me" color option, a color sale is a sale on toys of a specific color. The sale will cause sales of the specified color to rise and most toys ordered during the sale will most likely be the sale color. This will make manufacturing faster and easier on Bear as there will be a lot less color matching involved. Color sales can also have cute names which is an awesome advertising gimmick. Here are a few ideas....

• White Sale: (spring) Frost
• Red Hot Sale: (summer) Red
• Midnight Madness: (fall) Black
• Cold Snap: (winter) Blue

Of course the famous New Year sale will still be on all colors, these are just ideas for other sales that sometimes pop up during the year.

So, what do you think of these ideas?

I think the random color addition would work quite well and I might add it in the next few days depending on what Bear thinks.
Color sales may also be good, but I'll have to see how practical it is to do them.  Our cart system isn't the greatest, so doing that may take a long setup time for each sale.

I second this notion, it's a good way to reduce cost, and it might free up some of the que since Bear has choice over color and can also experiment.

agreed, myself i wouldnt care much about color, (tho i would make a note on my order that if possible to not give me flesh or pink, red is fine but not pink) and as for seasonal color sales, spring i would either say should be green or orange, to  me white is always winter (even tho blue is a better winter)

This really is a great idea. I didn't care about colour. If there had been a random choice, I would have selected it.

As a newbie, I think it would be great! I love suprises, and it would be even more fun to get the new toy in a fasinating color that I haven't a clue.
Besides, unless I'm showing it off or admiring it, it's going to be shoved in a dark place, so I wouldn't even be thinking of the color than...lol

Actually, White Sales are done in early spring. Usually they are household goods sales with things like towels, sheets, and napkins that traditionally are white being on discount. Also, frost is the easiest color to make as it's colorless, and Bear may still have some backup from the New Year sale, so less steps is a good idea.

I'm happy to see this option considered! I think it would be awesome if we could change our order colors to "surprise me" once the option is made. I understand if it would be too dificult, but I still thought I'd mention it. Even if we can't change our order color to "surprise me" being able to make future orders in this way is a happy thing.

I say go for it... Suprise me colors should be brilliant colors... HEMI (Challenger) Green or Orange! HEHE  
I could go for one in those colors! 
No Shit brown or pukie colors in suprise.... LOL
After all... suprises are supposed to Cheer you up and be BRIGHT!

What exactly does "natural coloring" entail anyway? I chuckled to myself that I could select blue and ask for natural coloring.
I'm sure it's been explained, but I've yet to discover where.
