There is some issues with the main site and IE.
There is serious alignment issues that people are reporting or it wont appear at all.

I've downloaded IE and tested it on my system, but so far cannot replicate the problem.  So, this is where you come in!
If you could, visit the main site.  It should look like what is in the attachment.

If it doesnt look like that, but instead the bottom middle part is way below and theres gaps... Please screenshot it, and send it to me.  I also need to know what version of IE you use (for example, 7.0.29384.1823).  This can be found in Help->About IE
I will also need to know if you have javascript enabled or disabled, and your resolution.

If the site doesnt appear at all (or just grey and black or something) I need to know the same thing as above, but also if you could copy+paste me the source code of the page.  That can be found by going to 'View' and then clicking on source.  Select it all (ctrl+a) and message me it in the code tags (ex: [cod e] [/cod e] but without the space after the d in both brackets)

    Thanks  Smiley

Issues like this usually only happen on IE.
Reason being, microsoft doesnt code IE to be compliant with web standards.  If the site is viewed in anything except IE, it should work fine.  Just needs javascript enabled.

Older versions of IE (6 and below) don't support PNG file transparencies, which will cause issues both on the forums and main site since I do use PNGs.

I do ofc have Java installed, not 64 bit java tho so dont seem like that version needs java pluggin atlest.

    also teste in version 8.0.6001.18702
running windows XP SP3 Vitual PC

and yeah IE always sucked and always will I guess ^^ microsoft fails too adapt again hehe, it worked fine when they have monopoly but they kidna fail when THEY gota adapt too others Tongue

    Java isnt Javascript.

Java is a coding language that is on par with C or C++ as it can be used for desktop applications.
Javascript is by an entirely different company and is a web scripting language that provides basic functionality for variable functions.

    Looks ok in IE 8.06(truncated)

except for one small line/bar for some reason..below privacy statement. It does not appear in Opera 9.64, which is my primary browser.
my screen resolution is 1366x768. Btw Opera seems to work fine with this site and forum so far. I'll test it on Konq  later on my linux box, but cant forsee any problems, as yeah MS never complies with anything, ive had nothing but problems with html and CSS, they even use their own rendering engine with IE8 i guess. thats the beauty and bane of being the "unstandard standard" sadly only by popularity and market share domination.

is why i dont use IE.

anyways my info is prolly wholly irrelevant but oh well, i mainly wanted to point out it works great in Opea afaict.

Site is almost ready for IE users.
I wont be just fixing the things though.  IE users will have a nice little message just for them. All browsers will get an  age agreement, minor site layout fixes , a place for promotional content and also a size change so those with ungodly old monitors that only support 1024x768 can view the site without needing to... scroll...

Once I update the site, all I'll have left that is major is the review section restructure and the required change to the store.  From then on, I can take it easy.

Adding in the fixes and such now.

Can someone go to the main site and lemme know if the blue bar extends out or if the promo buttons are aligned vertically and not horizontally?
If the above happens, clear your cache and then view the site and refresh 4 times.  Ctrl+f5 in firefox 3.0 doesnt seem to actually clear it, just reloads it.

I need to know if its just my browser being sucky and dumping the css or if its a script problem.  Didnt have this problem on my dev server so..
