Who plays the awesome babysitter games and which ones?

    My list:
Diablo 2 (not a full blown mmorpg, but close)
    Rising force online
    Perfect world - MY
    Perfect world - International
    Silkroad Online
    Lineage
    Lineage 2
World of warcrap (less than a day)
    Aion-CN
    Rohan Online
    Anarchy Online
    Darkfall
    EVE Online
    Gunz
    Ragnarok Online
    Ultima Online

Most of those I didn't play for a long period.  Usually only a month max.
Ones I played for longer thana month:

    Lineage 2 (Retail and private)
Perfect world - MY and International (retail and private)
    Aion - CN (retail)
    Diablo 2 (retail)

    Anyone else wanna top me?

*drools* i was just gonna make a thread like this

I LOVE mmorpgs, and have played pretty much all of those games u listed..however atm I only play perfect world International and a game you havent listed called Regnum online..which is here. www.regnumonline.com.ar its a F2P mmorpg, its small, and not the flashiest, but its run by a very small company in argentina, so expect it not to be as full featured..but it has some nice PVP aspects as its focused on RVR and PVP. I play that one promarily over PW even though PW is much flashier (maybe its cuz of the friends I met and time devoted..it grew on me because of the community and friends, playing right now actually lol) the main reason I first found this game is beacuse it has a native Linux Port, and it runs decently even on my craptastic laptop with integrated intel 915 chipset (sad i know..but im a poor girl who works part time as a Vet Assistant and I have bills..so f2p is what I need..I tried wow, but in the end it cost me to much to play, and if i left for periods, I'd no longer remember how to play, and i'd be ine step behind the newest equip..

anways some good points and bad about RO for me,
the level cap is 50, so you have plenty of time to level before hitting your limit
    its completely free to play
it has decent performance on slower machines
    native linux client
    decent pvp comabt
optional payment for premium items (mainly exp boosters and mounts/paints etc)
new update soon to improve graphics (new engine and optimized code)

    the downsides
    typical grindfest
quests are mostly typical mmorpg fare (fetch/kill mobs)
low population (they do have multi servers but due to the spanish server being the oldest and largest, the english server is relatively new so not a high player base. they have also a german and a netherlands server.
alot of updates and bug changes/skill adjustments (not all that players like) for balance reasons i understand but, id like it to be more stable.
having to be a particular level before entering the warzone (pvp areas) you dont HAVE to, but to be effective, it would involve a few weeks of levelling, for the english server..although alot of low levels do go in sooner since its a newer server and not all people have gotten higher levels.

anyways id like some people to give it a try..especially those linux users who don't have much options in the MMORPG world at the moment.  anyways feel free to ask more if ya want, i play only RO and PW at the moment. i love them both.

well the only online game that i play really is WoW, all my other games either no one plays or its kinda obscure or its just alittle old.

but yea wow is the only one i have ever played that costs a monthly fee (and i did make a small private server once just to check out the nono areas)

I play WoW. xD I play on a more mature server, on top of the fact it's an rp server, so the face the world "roleplay" is in there shoves a lot of the 11-year-old pocket miners into the PvEs. Not mean to the 11 year olds, but there are better things to get off to than scantily clad women. XD Anyway. <3

I used to play WoW but I got bored of it and I am actually selling my account right now for $399 if anyone wants it Tongue
I've played EVE and I love it but can't afford the $20 a month or w/e to play it.

Right now I'm trying to stick to games with no monthly costs. I play mostly CounterStrike:Source and SL

several others it seems have run the gauntlet of MMO selections. mine so far:
    EQ(launch-1year)
    EQ2(launch-6months)
    PerfectWorld international(beta,6months
Cabal Online(6months following launch for EU only client
    Flyff(occasionaly)
    Rappelz(occaisionaly)
    LIneage(3 months following TR cancellation)
    Lineage2(3 months following L1)
City of Heroes/Villans(3 months following TR cancellation)
    Star Wars Galaxies(1 month)
Diablo2 (if that one is to count as MMO)
    Warhammer(1 week, failed game)
    Chaos Online(1 month)
    Dungeon Runners(2 months)
    Mabinogi(2-3 months)
    Shin Megami Tensei(6weeks)
Age of Conan (launch-current:play every couple months while WoW is inactive)
WoW (1.4-current 3.2: reactive every couple months to see what's new, get bored and cancel again)
Tabula Rasa (launch-games cancellation: IMO best MMO I've ever played through the bugs and reworks and events and low player base. actually had a lot of my screenshots published by NC Soft in featured articles covering in game events. also best GMs ever, weekly/daily interaction with players)
Aion(closed beta beginning until current, gift from NCsoft for Tabula Rasa longterm sub members. retail copy free on launch day, will try it for a while)

I'm sure I've missed a few but those are all I remember at the moment that have held my attention for at least a few weeks.

My online gaming has been kind of limited because I'm more of a console gamer than PC but the ones worth noting are:

    Everquest (10 years)
    FFXI (8 months)
    WoW (2 years)
Starcraft (Um, I keep rediscovering this, impossible to determine)
    Diablo 2 (7 years)
    Warcraft 3 (3 years)
RO (off and on for 4 years)

Honestly at this point I play these games for the people that I meet, not the games themselves, the games are usually boring as hell after a point it becomes nothing but a huge dick waving contest (not saying that's bad all the time -wink-) and I just don't don't feel like being part of it.

Currently the only online game I'm actively playing is WoW, I'm horde right now, but I've played alliance also. So if anyone wants to hang out in game, send me a PM with your server/char name and we can maybe level some lowbies or somethin.

So if it's not on the list it means it sucked so hard it wasent worth playing ^^

WoW - was fun, started suckign at first expension.. died at secound.
Anarchy Online - Was fun got boored around lvl 200 on all chars Tongue
Diablo 2? not really mmo but - Epic game, just way too outdated, hope Diablo 3 fixes that.

I guess some of those games aren't MMORPGs, but they certainly are major online games Cheesy but yes I've lost a great many years to these damned evil things! And I plan to lose many more!

Huh, I've only played a few, but it seems that none of them have been mentioned.

Trickster - cute, but a grind. Stopped playing a few years ago. Tried to get back into it, but don't want to spend the time doing that.
Puzzle Pirates - fun in that it's different. The puzzle atmosphere means that even a 'noob' can be a powerful player, if you know what you're doing with the puzzles. But it gets repetitive more quickly because of playing the same puzzles over and over.
Kingdom of Loathing - not MM, but an ORPG. I love it, been playing for 3 years nearly every day. Part of what I love is that there's a built in soft time cap you can play each day. So an hour or two is all that I have to/can put in a day.

I've played WoW the most. Clocking in at about two years now. Finally getting bored of it. X.X But my guild died.... I miss those guys. If you want a server with a huge gay population, roll on Proudmoore. (I'm not kidding.)

Otherwise I mess around with F2P MMOs, like 2Moons (quit), Requiem (quit until I can get a better computer to run it), Maple Story (playing now), Runes of Magic (quit, I think) and a few others I'm played for a day and didn't like too much like Perfect World (probably didn't give it enough time...)

I guess I kinda just hop around nowadays. I still play WoW, but only if I can afford it for the month and want to play lol.

Perfect world on retail servers sucks.  Unless you're willing to dump hundreds on the cash shop that is.

The private servers are nice if you have some friends because all private servers have corrupt staff that give their friends/guild uber leet items.  Only upside to them is you dont need to spend real money.
