the toys are rendered in a 3d program and then 3d printed. each resin 'print' is then 'glove' cast to make a negative. each glove cast can easily be destroyed during the initial glove removal before it can be reinforced and every time a toy is made. the original 3d print can also be destroyed easily while demolding the 'glove' mold.

Actually, Bear hand sculpts all his toys. He's not like other makers who use 3d printing, which is why his toys don't have that weird line texture the other makers do!

There are many ways to make a mold. Here's another that uses deer antlers as an example. This version allows a single sculpture to be used to make many molds.

The simplest molds to make are the "block" kind.
    1) Take your sculpture and coat it with mold-release (ex: oil)
    2) Suspend in the middle of a block-frame made of fabric
    3) Pour your mold material (ex: silicone) in around your item and let it cure
    4) Carefully remove your sculpture. The mold is complete!

I don't know the kind of mold Bear uses. Either it's a block mold or has really good seams as to avoid ugly little seam edges.

The simplest way to go about making a mold would be to take some bread. Leave it sit out for a while, checking it every other day or so. Once you see it turn mostly green and white you will have your mold ready.

My fathers company uses a 3D printer to test simple mechanical parts for the machines they build and get an idea for best layout, saves a ton of money in the long-run compared to normal prototypes. Plus it just looks cool in action Cheesy

Doing 3d molds has been brought up in discussions before.  Customers get what they like in a toy; we get more options, more sizes, guaranteed reproduction (if the first breaks, just print it again), and modifying it or upgrading later is simple.

The only wall in the way is production, as I'm sure anyone who's ordered before knows.  Why offer 30 new toys when the already available 30 (random numbers people, not fact) take months to get out to the customers?

As to the question, all except one toy has been hand sculpted using clay or some other material.
