Since it seems we have a few fans here, and so that other topic doesn't get too derailed....

I used to own a bunch of figures, but sadly lost pretty much everything when I broke up with my ex. Sad I'm not as much of a collector as I used to be, but I would love to get a set of Beast Wars figures again for sure. Maybe some day. Cheesy (I take donations, too. Tongue)

I still own a few figures, and I got the new Ravage from the movie line too. I just miss all my other toys. X.X

Anyway, I grew up with mostly Beast Wars and a little G1, since I was born in 85 I missed pretty much the beginning of it all. Though I did just buy a G1 TF T-Shirt at Target the other day.... It has Grimlock on it though. Cheesy I love the dinobots. XD I guess most animal TFs make me happy since both modes are fun to play with... Cars are kinda boring lol.

I wish they'd do a new cartoon with the old characters, just not in Animated style... I hated that.

So anyway, post stuff about Transformers. Tongue I'm sure I could post more crap here, but I dunno what to post. XD

I love G1 transformers, and anything past that does not exist to me Tongue JK Tongue but honestly..the first series for me is my fave. (still cant see prime..err primal..as an ape..even if it was not the true optimus but his namesake and homage..i couldnt really get into the style much)

I have mostly collected all of the G1 series, most are in excellent condition or mint/ib or near, while others i had to ebay the heck out of to find 'spare' parts to complete (namely joints/weapons etc that were missing or just worn..megatron was a PAIN. although i have 2 now, one in great condition and the other is a work in progress yet, so i have some duplicates, some i dont touch..and others well..i lock th door and play like a kid Tongue

my favorite will always be optimus prime, followed by shockwave (i have both versions ^_^ the original and the one known as "shackwave" kudos to anyone who knows what i mean by that Smiley then frenzy (for a lil tape he was fun, though fragile) then prolly devastator cuz who could resist the huge combiners, even though scrapper and bonecrusher were my faves if they were sep. then grimlock because he was just cool..and well the first time they fought as the dinobots..it just was so cool Smiley

hmm, what else to add but, im really into collecting them, even knock offs for the sole rarity of them, (duplicated molds with most but different heads/colors/inferior construction often)

in general im just fascinated by the whole story lines, comics, toys, crossovers (just not michael bay..though he does have some respect for getting the original voice actor for prime...then again maybe it wasnt a good thing..because i recently was watching tv and got told by prime to drink coors'..)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2b1THz_0BU

i could talk for hours but i shall shut up for now

I don't think I've owned any G1 figures. X.X I really like the new "Classics" line that modernizes some of the G1 characters.

Actually wait, I owned a rather beat up SkyLynx. Well, just the shuttle half. Always wanted a nice working one.... He's one of my favorite designs from that era. XD

even though I was born in 81, I think I missed the g1 series.  I loved the original show and would catch it every day after school.  I would play with mine while watching it on tv....those were the good ole days....heehee.  As much as I lked the dino bots, I also liked the other big guy for the decpticons, not devistator, even though I was never able to complete him, but the other guy that was composed of I think it was 5 vehicles modeld after a few of the auto bots like prime...and the autobots big guy that was made up of all those jets..... anyways I loves the classic ones, and I even like the ones from the new movies.  I agree with flamecrow, they really messed up when they went animated...ughhhhh.
But atleast in the movies they have the original voice of prime in it.  They atleast got that one right.

well that was the coolest part i thought, the bird/shuttle half (though the lower half/lynx walked and rolled when in shuttle mode, but yeah i hated how they often made some transformers separate components, like omega supreme (gestalts aside..the combiners like devastator and bruticus etc) he was massive though Smiley

i liked more the triple changers, like astro train and blitzwing (they transformed into 2 different vehicles etc, atrotrain was obviously a train..and a shuttle..while bliztwing was a jet and a tank. (they were also in the animated movie near the beginning, blitzwing was in the first strike on the city, and again just being missed by getting ran over by prime. astrotrain was also there, being the shuttle they escaped in Tongue offhand, when prime showed up im pretty sure he shot i think it was soundwave, thundercracker, one insecticon (shrapnel i think) the jets, ramjet, dirge, or thundercracker..maybe both, i think both as they are similar but one had gold wings, and dirge did.
but thats where i started disliking the series, because they had to kill off alot of chars to make room for new (and new lineup of toys) especially autobots but hardly any decepticons (mainly insecticons but since they were clones..who cared)
phased out megatron to become galvatron,
bombshell (i think) became cyclonus, though people say its skywarp.
and thundercracker was scourge i think.
various others were swoops (kickback, dirge, ramjet? etc etc)

oh and starscream died, but he kept appearing throughout the series anyways.

sorry i talk too much again Smiley i just love transformers lol

as for umm who the jet combiner was..it was most likely superion, and the other was probably menasor..since well he had a small semi with trailer that was like primes' and a lambo like sunstreaker, even an f1 racer like mirage.

heck i even had some go bots...but they always lost Smiley mainly they just were fun to have cuz they were cheap, and some were ok..while alot were stupid. they usually met untimely deaths and got beat up alot, though i did like the huge versions they released later, those ones sometimes won Smiley

Starscream can't die, or something silly like that....  "In the second season of Beast Wars, the reason for Starscream's ability to survive beyond death was revealed — a mutation in his spark had rendered it indestructible. Maximal experiments to replicate this effect resulted in the creation of the insane monster Protoform X, later called Rampage." from Wikipedia.

The only cool GoBot was the steam engine (train) fellow, because they never make those kinda transfomers! He's like the only non-bootleg one... (If there are any bootlegs). Do you know what figure I'm talking about?

oh and surfing today..comp;etely unrelated, i had bookmarked this on youtube...would be awesome for something like that to be in transformers..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2yigliim0U   whoever worked on that had some serious skills Tongue

Yup hehe, that's him. He doesn't look as cool as I remember, but he's still nifty for a GoBot.

I was born in 81, as well, but I never had any Transformers. I liked the show quite a bit, but never had any toys. My toys were Hot Wheels, Legos (lots of them), and He-Man, later Ninja Turtles.

I remember watching a fair amount of Beast Wars, partly because of when it was on. It was something like 6:30 am, and I had nothing else to do. I remember thinking that it was... weird. Didn't care for the look so much, but I liked that later it stopped being encapsulated episodes and became a serial. I thought that was really cool at the time.

Yep I had go-bots too, and turtles.  But yeah starscream is like that one person you always find in a series or movie, that just cant be left out.  Why do you think in the first new movie he was the only one to get away and not die.... someone had to be left to revive megatron.

Going to something that was said in another post there was a 5 or 6 piece train set, anyone remember its name or that particular toy?

prolly cuz he was blown to bits by megatron (as galvatron) in the animated movie.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUAlN80LBnc

anyways ive always liked him too, i was just wishing for more of the same headbutting and vying for dominance like in the series by starscream, he had hardly any role in the first, and well in the second a little more of his personality shown but still.

as for a train (if you are referring to transformers g1, i honestly ont remember any aside from astrotrain..though there was omega supreme, though he wasnt a train. he was more like a shuttle/base/track/tank/robot, but he did have a crapload of pieces Smiley he was also in one of my favorite episodes and matchups in the original series (the secret of omega supreme) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2DEk09ZoF4

and the toy version is here, lemme know if i was wrong n ill think some more http://images.absoluteanime.com/admin/favtoy/favtoy-transformers-omegasupreme.jpg

myself i remember watching transformers in the living room while my parents still slept, and even getting a few of the toys (though most had to wait till yard sales to pick them up). i mostly had the turtles and ghostbusters toys while growing up, but i did enjoy me some beast wars and beast machines later on in middle school and high school

the train i was reffering to came with a track, little dudes, I know it was an autobot, one part was just an engine, one became a jet, one was like a carrier....like I said I was like 10 when I had it and dont remember what it was.  But anyways one of my favs was the jumbo jet that couldnt figure out if he was an autobot or decipticon, and finally decided to join the good guys.
