Thats probably what is taking mine so long, I got 6 of them but lucas is in al natural color, but on the plus side they are all hard as far as hardness goes.  Oh well, being order 16 and having ordered on the 4th I thought it might have been able to get done sooner, but oh well, live and learn, and then enjoy your toys when they get here.

nope all silicone, and no gel.  How long was you order in the molding que stage?

Uh... lessee. 10 days from when it was in the queue(got that email on the 17th, package email dated the 27th). Bear hinted that the Akita was backed up, but that output would triple on that model. That was before I ordered. That suggests three molds for it? Or something. Since it was half my order something like that would certainly speed things up. I suppose that it's no use really trying to figure it out. He's a bit backed up and that's all there is to it. I guess that just means people love his work, which is good because that means he stays in business.

I have the Akita in my order....hehehe, oh well such is life.  But yes lots of people love the work he does.....wonder if he "tests" out his creations before putting them up for sale.  And by that I mean new product ideas, not literally testing each toy made for the customers.

Honestly? I don't think so. I don't know at all what the positive molds are made of, but I rather doubt it's insertion friendly. I have the feeling that it don't flex. Once the mold is made, unless there's a game breaker of a flaw it'd probably be expensive to change, too. Plus there's the fact that I don't know how big of a toy Mr. Bear himself can actually use. Cheesy He mentioned that a favorite of his was the hyena, that's not a particularly sizable toy there. If he really can't use most of the larger toys he makes, then it's awfully sweet of him to cater to those of us who likes 'em big. Tongue Good business sense maybe, too.

Hes talking about the clay positive molds.
Your talking about the vinyl/silicone positive castings which are from negative molds when they get either type of material poured in Tongue

You wondered if he tested his ideas before making them available for sale, right? I guess I can't think of a way to do that without a... usable mock-up? But how to get the mock-up is my question. Take what's in the pictures for the gryphon toy. It looks like the toy will, but I don't know what it's made of. I don't think it could be used, I don't think the material is flexible. (edit: apparently it's clay, so that would be a big NO as to flexibility...) It's the positive mold. It makes the negative mold, which is the mold used to actually make the toy.

I suppose he himself wouldn't have to do the testing, so he wouldn't be held to his own limits even if he had a way to make a usable mock-up.

But all this could just be me talking out of my ass, he could indeed have some system for testing that I just can't imagine.

If you got two toys, that means before shipping out, all of them must be finished.

That's why I placed 2 separate orders. A few bucks extra for shipping, but patience is a virtue I sorely lack.
