Sorry, but I'm not a good person to ask about that Tongue I kinda jumped into it and was using a decently sized toy (over 2" thick) within a very short time. *shrug*

The only tips I can provide:

    1.  Start thin and slowly work your way up to a "comfortable" size.  Don't be discouraged if it takes you months to move up comfortably, because everyone's bodies are different.
    2.  Don't rush things.  Going too fast or increasing size too much before you're ready can cause injuries and/or pain.
    3.  Use plenty of lube.

    Lube
    Lube
    Lube
    Go slow
    Lube
    Have patience
    Lube?
    Don't force it in

    xD
Thats usually the jist of it when starting with toying.
Pain means stop.  If you have blood on the toy after, it means you went too fast, too far or its just a minor tear since its your first toy going in.

Like whats already been stated... plenty of lube makes the experience more enjoyable and less difficult!
Depending on which toy(s) you're looking at, I'd start off with the smaller teasers or something like the ruff jr to get going.  My first was the Boxie, and after a couple weeks I'm now able to take the knot.  Grin

so is it bad that my first time with boxie i took the knot the first night i had it? lol. the only other toy id tried before boxie was my mate's hard plastic vibrator, tried it a couple times and didnt like it, and didnt get boxie until over a year later so i don't really count the other toy but semantics and all might as well include it in my toy use history.

Bad? Nah. I mean, is it bad that it took me two weeks to knot the Akita after I got it and within six weeks after that I was able to knot the Akita and Helmutt simultaneously? I don't think so... besides, it feels good. Some people just have an easier time of it.

Yeah, that's about as accurate as it gets. Lube is entirely required!
..I'd also say 'Try to relax', as some good advice. But who's relaxed when they have the urge to play? xD

My biggest warning past what others have said would be to watch the measurements.

Something 8 inches long and 2 inches in diameter may not sound huge, but when you're new it will feel like you're trying to put in a whale. Start out with fingers. How many can you comfortably fit in once you're warmed up? Measure your used fingers and use that as your starting estimate for width.

Length is less scary than width as you can use as much or as little as you want, but bear in mind that it takes time and skill to put in anything bigger in length than a human penis (5-7 inches useable length) so try to stay within "human length" at first.

Also... hardness. I'd say avoid soft as soft is hard to get in sometimes. I personally prefer medium-hard, but medium is a good safe bet usually. They say the silicone here is softer than the gel, so you may want to stick with silicone at first due to ease of clean-up (diswasher safe and boilable for extra clean!) and less chance of hurting yourself.

    Have fun and good luck!

keep in mind that sayyyy you can fit 2 fingers in, your fingers are flat and the toy is round..  so something 2 fingers wide is most likely NOT going to fit easily like your fingers do Wink
