I'm what you'd call... new. Never owned a toy, but seeing what you've got here, I think it's pretty much inevitable that I should order a couple.

Been passively involved in the furry fandom for years. Nothing terribly extreme or bizarre--I'm not of the type that has any illusions regarding the whole notion of fiction surrounding the fandom--though I'm always looking for new and interesting things.

It's remarkable how I've been to all corners of the Internet, but the nicest people--I've found--have been in the most interesting of places. Here, of course, included.

So anyway, hi! what's up? how's life treating you?

Life's treating me pretty descent. My wife, not so much. I had a pretty dang good day, she had a crappy one. Pheh. So. Since it's inevitable that you'll order, anything really catch your eye?

I've been in the furry fandom for over 10 years now, and I've never been really "into" it. I've created numerous characters, but I've done very little actual role playing. I have next to no art, either. Never been to a convention. It's important to me nonetheless, and I'm getting into it more lately.

Well, life does have it's little ups and downs, all of which help to gain perspective on all others preceding... (sorry if that was too deep) Sorry to hear that. I hope tomorrow's a better day for her.

Right now I'm looking at boxie, natural, hard. It seems to be the "entry-level" realistic toy of choice around here. And I've only heard rave reviews on its usability.

As for the fandom, I've been lurking forever. I haven't created much of anything. Any offshoot, segment, or subgroup that I find is intriguing at first, but loses its shine and appeal before I can really be inspired to do anything. And as for family and friends, I'm so deep in the closet, I can't find my way out. I told my girlfriend a while back. She now thinks I'm over it. I'm... not so much. And it's not even the love of the fandom itself for me, it's the people! they're all great and hilarious. More so than anyone I have met otherwise. Instant alignment of interests I suppose. So, I've now filled my quota of useless rambling for today. Enough about me.

Zqfmgb - I'm sorry your wife had a crappy day.  I hope this coming week is better for her!

Hijinxus - I know what you mean about "the people" as opposed to "the fandom".  I met my first "furries" at NorWesCon decades ago.  They were, hands down, the funniest, most sensual people I've ever met - in fandom OR out of it.  Although I drifted away from cons and fandom, I've always remembered what it felt like to be hugged by a warm, strong, sexy man with silky fur.  Thank god for his charming spouse and public hallways, or I'd have jumped him right there in a New York minute.  Shocked  Feelings that primal are quite a rush!

SO sorry that you feel lost in the closet right now.  But I truly believe that a person with your sense of humor and balanced perspective will eventually reconcile the open and the hidden places inside himself/herself .  At least you told your GF.  That's more guts than I've had so far.  My spouse is totally clueless - until the package gets here.

Haha! That's one way of putting it. I can't say I've had the pleasure of going to a con (none in my immediate area... that are held indoors at least) I'd have to say that would definitely be a treasured memory. Or at least something you wouldn't soon forget at any rate.

Yeah, I'm at a crossroads of sorts, ready and waiting to redefine myself. Who knows, maybe I'll find some nice, tolerant people along the way.  Smiley

How do you think it's going to go down once your package does arrive? I think pretty much everyone I know would be looking at me sideways for a good long while if they saw what I'm planning on ordering. I have a sneaky plan to make sure that doesn't happen though. there's a plus of having to go behind peoples' backs... It inspires creative thinking.  Roll Eyes

I suppose I'm one of those that loves furry for the furries, not strictly the people in it. I've always had a really hard time connecting with people in any situation. It helps with furries to have a known commonality, but that could be said of any interest. Furries DO tend to be very tolerant, which is nice. I don't know... I just have any easier time online.

I've never been to a Con that wasn't in a hotel.  I'm one of those wussy girls who think if god meant for me to go camping, he'd have invented portable hiltons.   Cheesy  I luvs my creature comforts.  If someone craves an outdoor experience with their "fannishness", get medieval and go join the SCA.   Grin

As for how the notice will go down, well - as the saying goes...  "it's 6 to 5 and pick 'em".  I don't love him less because he was disabled early in our marriage. I'm hoping he will not love me less because I need something he cannot provide.  With luck, the G-spot popping shapes of Zeta toys will seem different enough from a human dildo, to make them less intimidating for him.  I CAN play alone, but would rather he was comfortable enough to be with me during the process.  Even better if he took over the remote control of a thruster - but... baby steps, baby steps.

Yeah, I've found my social life drifting online. It seems I've grown distant from most of the people I've ever known, whether through physical separation, or a parting of ways and eventual alienation. Then there's the point where you see them across a crowded room, but you can't think of anything to say to them other than, "So... you drop acid now, huh? And how is that?" It kind of sucks on my end though, I've found people you meet online are great, but you can't really go out for coffee with them. Unless you're doing that kind of meeting people online.  Cheesy But, we remember the good times, and the bad fade into the past. (I'm just full of these things, don't get me going)

People really are different when they're not talking face-to-face. Shy people can be extroverted, and, erm, unkind people can be even more so. I find it's easier online as it is actually possible to compose one's thoughts, and even edit them before they go out. That, and the awkward pause--during which you just miss the threshold of the possibility of breaking the silence without it being extremely awkward--is completely avoided.

Wow, I had to look up two terms just in that one post! --"SCA," and "it's 6 to 5 and pick 'em"-- It's not often that my vocabulary is left completely stumped.
Well, I'm glad you're doing what you've gotta. I'm sure he'll warm up to the concept if he doesn't initially. (as for the concept of a "thruster," I'm just going to leave that one alone if you don't mind Smiley)
