I suppose I'm one of those that loves furry for the furries, not strictly the people in it. I've always had a really hard time connecting with people in any situation. It helps with furries to have a known commonality, but that could be said of any interest. Furries DO tend to be very tolerant, which is nice. I don't know... I just have any easier time online.
Yeah, I've found my social life drifting online. It seems I've grown distant from most of the people I've ever known, whether through physical separation, or a parting of ways and eventual alienation. Then there's the point where you see them across a crowded room, but you can't think of anything to say to them other than, "So... you drop acid now, huh? And how is that?" It kind of sucks on my end though, I've found people you meet online are great, but you can't really go out for coffee with them. Unless you're doing
that kind of meeting people online.

But, we remember the good times, and the bad fade into the past. (I'm just full of these things, don't get me going)
People really are different when they're not talking face-to-face. Shy people can be extroverted, and, erm,
unkind people can be even more so. I find it's easier online as it is actually possible to compose one's thoughts, and even edit them before they go out. That, and the awkward pause--during which you just miss the threshold of the possibility of breaking the silence without it being extremely awkward--is completely avoided.
I've never been to a Con that
wasn't in a hotel. I'm one of those wussy girls who think if god meant for me to go camping, he'd have invented portable hiltons.

I luvs my creature comforts. If someone craves an outdoor experience with their "fannishness", get medieval and go join the SCA.

As for how the notice will go down, well - as the saying goes... "it's 6 to 5 and pick 'em". ...
Wow, I had to look up two terms just in that one post! --"SCA," and "it's 6 to 5 and pick 'em"-- It's not often that my vocabulary is left completely stumped.
Well, I'm glad you're doing what you've gotta. I'm sure he'll warm up to the concept if he doesn't initially. (as for the concept of a "thruster," I'm just going to leave that one alone if you don't mind

)
