I've been trying to get started on selling these modded plushies but my biggest problem is finding plushies to mod. I just can't find any I like these days. I thought about copying the patterns of some I already have but that would also quadruple the work to make them.
Although this sort of thing isn't my style (my plushies are for cuddles only!), I do understand at the difficulty in finding good large plushies -- I prefer plushies at LEAST two feet in lenth, not counting any tail. My suggestions for the economical is to keep hitting up thrift stores and garage/yard sales if you have them in your area. I recently snagged a 28" tiger... jaguar... thing (seriously, I don't know what it is) for $10, which was actually quite a lot for that store. If not, or if spending more doesn't bother you, eBay and Amazon are good places to look. Amazon has a few I'd like to get, though at $35-45 each I'll have to wait a bit on them. I've considered making them as well, just because of the difficulty in finding ones I like. Though I'd take a pattern of one I have and try to make it bigger  Depending on how much fur I have left over from my suit, I may try with that. |

For those who have Sam's club memberships, they usually get some pretty large plush in. Right now they have giant Minnie Mouse plushies where I live. The also have those ponies that kids can sit on their backs.

Well as anti-Wal-Mart as I am I might give that a look. I also saw a large huskie type plush at Walgreen's but it needs some modification to look more convincing. Nothing I can't handle though.

My mom found it at a garage sale a year+ ago, but couldn't take it back with her (wouldn't fit in luggage) so it's been sitting in my living room for the longest time. Has a hole about where the belly button would be =\ But otherwise, it's a pretty hefty plush |

omg I totally know! Finding plushies are sooo hard.. At least one to looks awesome! I actually spent about three hours the other day looking for some.. And didn't find any one's that I fell in love with v.v |

Well, if you don't mind spending money on made-to-order Plushies, you should look up Mythical Creations on Google. She is -really- good at her stuff, and will do anything at any size (to a great accuracy level)
