For the interests of this topic, I'm defining "backlogged" as any order placed at least 6 months ago as of this posting

What is the status of backlogged orders? Is even a backlog? Are old orders getting any kind of priority over more recent orders? If not.. then why?

It's good to see some updates again after such a dry spell, but it was pretty disappointing to see most were pretty high (recent) order numbers and very few older numbers. Maybe that means there are very few older orders left? I find that hard to believe, but who knows!

I'm hoping to see my two backlogged orders sooner than later. I doubt I'm the only one with that thought.. in fact, I'm curious. Who else has been waiting over 6 months for an order?

I've been waiting patiently since the first of the year. I must admit that I am eager to find out if it'll get done soon but I feel bad harping on BB to find out Tongue

I have one order from January and one order from April as well as a toy that broke in late march (still waiting on a replacement). There is also one unanswered support ticket from a month ago and counting....

I know the new guy is working on orders to try to regain the trust of customers. Sales hit a huge downturn with the backlog and Bear is hoping that by improving the shipping times on new orders he can (re)gain and keep repeat customers. This is understandable, and I'm hoping it works. On the bright side, with Bear working on backlog only (right?) it means our orders will come up faster!

there are two people working now, one doing new orders and one doing old. a lot of it has to do with materials, between gel and silicone, and all the colors that go with it, logistically it may be easier to do newer orders at the same time as some older ones.

I kind of wish Bear would just get the gel toys out the door or let people switch to silicone, it would help with buying supplies and cut the number of different toys to be made down.

a small loan would be nice too, to stay ahead of the curve on supplies. with a decent stock he wouldn't have to wait on new orders to buy X color so he could do a certain batch, or ship things out.

but its his business and he knows the process, we can speculate all we want about how it works, or how it might work better, but in the end its probably running the best possible way for Bear and its just a reality we have to deal with.

I'm still waiting for my order from the beginning of September. I'm hoping it'll be on it's way before the 1-year mark.

I took a leap of faith and ordered something else a couple of weeks before Bear's new helper started and it's on its way. It's sort of odd to get the new stuff out the door faster but this is exactly what they need to do. Since the new orders are moving quick, I'm thinking of placing another order.

It sounds like Bear is working through the last of the gel orders, then the silicone stuff should move faster. Sometimes when you end up in a hole, it's tough to scramble out but Bear seems to be doing everything to set things right and get things moving.

Trust me, you will not be disappointed. BB just completely switched over to Silicone in late July or early August of 2010. The molds are totally different in composition than those used for the gel toys, so he had to "retire" all of those and then get the maker of the new molds to make those.

    Patience will be rewarded. Wink

BB's work is excellent.... and it will improve now that the shop is amost modified.

I'll agree.... the toys have always been worth the wait.

That being said I wish BB would treat this like a business and not as just a hobby. Hiring the new bear is definitely in the right direction but I think it's still far from a smooth operation. I think Zeta would benefit from an accountant and someone to keep track of the logistics of the whole mess of material shortages and postage shortfalls.

Every order appears to end up as a loan for whatever randomly gets chosen to be done instead of the actual cost to make and ship what was paid for years ago (exaggeration, it's only been one year so far for most of the absurdly outstanding orders). Maybe that's what Zeta has been all along.... not a store at all but in fact a dildo investment program!

Invest in Zeta and you someday get a toy as return on that investment! Can I have my dividends now?  Cheesy

I don't think any account in their RIGHT mind would want to be part of BB's business end because of what BB makes. If BB were making just plain dildos, I don't think most people would have a problem with that part of the business. He keeps the prices low so that the toys are affordable to almost everyone who wants one. Unfortunately, BB could decide that he wants to be just like his competition and charge accordingly. BB's not greedy in the normal sense of that word; he cares for both his products and his customers. That is why he has such HIGH quality products that the competition would just about "kill" to have.

    Just food for thought.

Heh.. good point. Although I've a feeling there are more deviant people that are good with numbers than you might assume!

Also... Low prices are nice and all but if it's not enough to maintain a steady workflow it is just a setback. That setback is driving the end of the backlog well past the year mark for too many orders, and there are an awful lot of refund requests floating around the forum. Something is not working as well as it could be, that's for sure!

I would tend to think customers, including myself, would be okay with paying a little more if it meant the order would go out on time with no random material or postage shortages. Especially if the quality of the toys is as fantastic as claimed by die hard fans!
