There's the new http://www.zoofur.com/the-bear-essentials.html but what about upgrading the old gel toy http://www.zoofur.com/grizzly-bear.html into a silicone model?

Personally, please don't bash, I think the previous (Bear Essentials) doesn't reflect what an ursine may be equipped with. Bears have baculums, causing a smooth gradient along the entire length, therefore no bumps until the end where a minor to medium dome or flare-like tip resides. I think the former (Grizzly Bear) projects that quite nicely.

I know that Gel has its complications but I also want to know why most, if not all of the models had been redone to suit the silicone overhaul.

Edit: Through searching I've found they have plans to put Gels into Silicone. But the question still resides, why the change exactly?

The previous models made in gel were discontinued for two reasons:
    1) Quality.  Gel sucked hardcore and not as in porn.  I only had 1 gel toy when they were around and within a month or two it was solid as a rock which was caused because the softener/plasticizer leaked out.  That caused the stiffness.  It also caused stickyness (had to be washed thoroughly before eahc use), smell (had to be kept in a plastic bag), upkeep (had to be powdered).  Overall, bad material.
    2) Complexity.  To pour it, the material had to be heated to extremely high temperatures, mixed and all kinds of other jazz.  It was not safe for Bear to make, and the time required to make a single toy was significantly longer than it would be with silicone.

Silicone fixed both problems.  As for why not all models are already in silicone, the old molds cannot be used.  The mold material for the gels is incompatible with the silicone material.  New molds would need to be made for each toy and each mold takes lots of money and time to do.  Instead of focusing on adding more toys to order, Bear is working on orders.

Ah, thank you Talarath for the response! I actually hadn't thought I'd get such a hasted reply.

I see, it's a shame that it had to come to that, hopefully it makes it much more easier for Burr on his end to make the products. Looking forward to the new Silicone models! Keep up the good work. :3

I do try to respond as quick as I can if possible.

When the backlog is less, I'll be riding Bears ass to get the older models converted to silicone.

I have a few ideas on remakeing the grizzly in Silicone, but I have a few more models ahead of it to be remade in silicone.
